Tuberculosis, a severe bacterial infection is caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis and continues to be one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality. A study on the immunological and structural characteristics of a protein belonging to the PPE family of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was done by insilico analysis and reveals that Rv2430c can be used as a possible diagnostic marker for active TB infection. Rv2430c showed statistically significant immune response pointing to the ability of this ORF to differentiate between TB and non TB patients.
