Teachers' Perceptions Regarding Student-centered Teaching in Pakistan
Kaka Jan
This book is a detail report of a causal-comparative research study undertaken as a part of a degree programme at Notre Dame Institute of Education, Karachi, Pakistan. It was conducted in 10 private schools in Pakistan in which 54 professionally trained and 51 untrained secondary teachers participated. The study revealed that student-centered teaching is perceived positively by the secondary school teachers. However, they faced problems in terms of implementing this approach of teaching in their classrooms. The study suggests some practical recommendations for the school administration and teachers regarding the effective use of this teaching approach in private schools in Pakistan.
