Pineapple is the second harvest of importance after bananas, contributing to over 20 % of the world production of tropical fruits. Uganda is the number one fruit producing nation in Africa. The country is suitable and has abundant potential to produce mangoes, citrus, pineapples, tomatoes and a host of many vegetables.
