Antipsychotics are well known to cause extrapyramidal effects. This sometimes causes incompliance to drug therapy and /or addition or deletion of one or more drug. The book evaluates the EPS of risperidone and olanzapine when prescribed to schizophrenic patients of Indian origin. Though the second generation antipsychotics causes lower EPS but they are not free from EPS. Simpson Angus Scale was used to measure the EPS which was Developed in 1970, and is the most widely used instrument to assess extrapyramidal symptoms in clinical practice.
