In recent decades, saving energy has become a vital issue in many countries. The energy awareness and energy conservation has started to open up new avenue in saving energy area. Lighting is one of the major uses of electricity and accounts for major portion of national electricity usage for instance educational building lighting system consumes about half of total energy usage of building. It means that diminishing the consumed energy by lighting system is sufficient to decrease the expenses and CO2 emission. The lighting electrical energy consumption is drastically affected by lighting system power and operating hours. Decreasing in any of these factors result in reduction of electrical energy consumption. This is achievable by selecting efficient light system, using daylight appropriately and define effective lighting controller strategy. In addition to energy saving, lighting quality is important which has to fulfill the lighting standards. This book directed to find a more efficient light source and design effective lighting controller for university classrooms.
