This book presents the results of a study on perceived occupational stress amongst female nurses working in a general hospital in the Eastern Cape Province. The central aim of the study was to understand if and how nurses perceived and experienced work related stress in the hospital. A sample of convenience was used consisting of six voluntary registered female nurses with ages ranging from 29 and 50 years. Semi-structured, in-depth individual interviews were conducted with the six participants, with data analyzed for thematic content. Main themes and sub-themes within the main themes were identified and discussed. Based on the findings of this study, recommendations for future research are offered.
