PZT Ceramic: Most of the development of piezoelectric ceramics has been focused on producing new materials which have the dielectric and piezoelectric properties required for use in the desired piezoelectric ceramic devices. The vast majority of these materials found in the marketplace today are lead zirconium titanate (PZT) which have a perovskite structure, and are characterized by high dielectric constant, low dielectric losses, and high electromechanical coupling factors. The objective of this book was to produce the piezoelectric ceramic (PZT) materials using solid-state reaction and sol- gel techniques to obtain a homogenous structure and high purity materials. By examining the different properties of PZT ceramic materials this book provides a valuable description of the development and behaviour of this material.
