Gender, Social Enquiry Reports and Social Work Disposals: an Analysis, by Gender, of the Appropriateness of Policy and Practice for Offenders Within Scotland's Justice System.
Geraldine Gallagher
In the aftermath of a series of suicides at Scotland's women's prison in the nineties the author has undertaken a gender analysis of responses to offenders within Scotland's criminal justice system. A new welfare model seems to have evolved in the supervision of female offenders. Otherwise though the findings have neen unexpected and interestingly it was found that some efforts by practitioners to engage in gender aware practice with women offenders seem to have backfired.
