This book emphasizes about the species richness in theregeneration layer of Shorea robusta in different strata. I conclude that open strata maintain seedling density, and favour regeneration of Sal (shorea robusta)but plant species richness in the regeneration layer dependent to the heavily influenced by the local communities. The correlation between the stem number of upper storey and under storey is negative for diversity index. Timber, firewood, fodder, fiber and food are provisioning services provided by forest ecosystem to local communities. So,this study will be favourable for the management of Sal forest.
