Vesalius was the first to introduce positive pressure ventilation. General principles: Positive pressure ventilation creates a pressure that can carry a volume of gas into the lungs. In control ventilation, the current volume is pre-adjusted by the ventilator and has a set pressure and speed. In control compression ventilation, the pressure is preset and the expansion time is reached until the specified current volume is reached.
