Proposed intervention strategy to reduce prevalence

A qualitative study was carried out, where the design strategy assumed was the multiple case study, in the period from October to November 2011, with the objective of designing a community social intervention strategy aimed at reducing the prevalence of Arterial Hypertension in the community belonging to the C. M. F 16-25 of the Policlínico Santa Clara. The sample consisted of a total of 120 patients, of both sexes and from different age groups, which were selected based on selection criteria. Several techniques were used such as: group dynamics techniques (presentation and closing), observation, semi-structured interview, group discussion, brain storming and abstraction techniques and exercises. The main results obtained were that the community under study was the most affected by Arterial Hypertension in the Santa Clara Polyclinic. The age group with the highest rate of diagnosed cases was 65 years and older. Arterial Hypertension was identified as the main health problem, which has increased in recent years.
