Labour and capital productivity in grapes (Vitis vinifera L.)

The objectives were to determine labor productivity (LFP) and capital productivity (CP) indices in grapevine (Vitis vinifera) cultivation in Coahuila, Mexico. The mathematical models of PT and PC of Rios and Navarrete (2017) were used. The results indicate that they had indices of 20,441 kg worker-1, 0.11 h kg-1, USD 12,581 worker-1 in GVP per worker, USD 8,439 worker-1 in Value Added, USD 4,200 worker-1 in profit per worker, RB/C equal to 1.50, USD 0.41 kg-1 in unit cost per kg, and that the social productivity of capital (PSC) was 119 jobs MUSD-1, and finally, creating a job required USD 8,381. In relation to Sonora grapes, Coahuila has 27% higher unit cost, its GVP worker-1 is only 16% and with 112.71 ton-1 hours it invests four times more labor time to produce one ton of grapes.
