The history of medicine is such that it is sometimes late in diagnosis, sometimes in treatment and sometimes in prevention. Research and development are a bulwark against this fate. In this book, written with the contribution of Dr Auguste Messan D'ALMEIDA, the author talks about his training and then his professional career of some fifty years. He tells why and how he and his team came to set up a regional medical diagnostic centre and then a research and development centre that brought innovative medicines from local medical research to the market. For three decades, the population has come to know and appreciate the usefulness, quality, effectiveness and safety of these medicines on a daily basis, well beyond our borders. It is obviously this growing population that gives a certain legitimacy to this work. The book also talks about the period of the Covid-19 pandemic that we are currently experiencing, as well as the reasons for hope.
