Religious beliefs are "ordinary" beliefs in the "extraordinary." Why do we believe in something we don't understand? Why do we have irrational beliefs? Irrational beliefs are not necessarily false beliefs, but non-intuitive: they are beliefs that contradict the idea of the reality used in our everyday life. Sciences explain the world through causal connections in spite of the intentions of a subject. Religions, however, also explain this world through the intentions of a supernatural subject.
