The Way that can be clearly described is not the Immutable Way. The name that can be pronounced aloud is not the Immutable Name. With your mouth shut, leaving things undefined, you find yourself at the beginning of the universe. The Tao Te Ching is one of the most influential books in human history. This text is a compilation of 81 passages written by the sage Lao-Tzu/Laozi, although some historians doubt his authorship. The title could be translated by "the Canon of The Path and Virtue" or simply as "the Book of the Way". Taoism is an ancient system of philosophy and ethics very important in East Asia, but whose influence extends throughout the world and is evident, even today, in art, literature and philosophy. This system serves to live in harmony with the cycles of change and to become aware of our place in the network of life. The teachings of the chapters are exemplified with everyday situations that they could be applied in, so that the reader can see Lao Tzu's learnings represented in a reality that is known to him.
