The FAO guidelines for development of integrated multipurpose animal recording systems have been prepared with the objective of helping countries to design and implement such systems and to maximize the chances that they will be sustained. These guidelines put performance recording in a more general context, and hence to complement rather than replace the previous FAO guidelines.
