Young and full of adventure, Noah Thompson and his wife Ashley have been married for two years and are just starting their life together. They both love life and are fascinated by history, which drove them to take the plunge and buy an old three-story home in desperate need of repair near downtown Wilmington's historic district.
Little do they know, hidden within the walls of this fixer-upper, there was a long-forgotten relic of the past. A relic that will take them on an adventure across Wilmington and take them back to the days of the American Civil War like they could have never dreamed.
As if called from the past, the young couple seeks to unravel a Civil War mystery. A mystery that includes a love story, tragedy, and the lure of gold aboard a blockade runner lost off the shores of Fort Fisher during the Civil War.
Soon enough, the couple will find out the hard way they are not the only ones searching for the lost blockade runner and its cargo. Being pursued at every turn, Noah has no choice and enlists the help of an old friend. An old friend named Connor Grey who just happens to be the great-grandson of the famous detective Hunter Grey.
