Unpainted Dreams is a story about a woman in her late 30s, Kate, who feels stuck in a long-term marriage, that is both unhappy and emotionally abusive. She meets a man in his mid-40s, Tim, and they hit it off, connecting on many levels. The journey Kate takes to eventually leave her marriage is long and heartbreaking; taking many twists and turns along the way.

Even though I moved a number of years ago, after Jen graduated from high school, I just this summer finally got to the last of the boxes tucked away in a corner of the garage. These are boxes filled with miscellaneous things such as old pictures from my grandparents' house, CDs of music long replaced by streaming digital versions, and my old journals. Along with my journals from 12 to 15 years ago, there is a keepsake box. Inside this box, carefully wrapped in tissue paper, are two aspen leaf paperweights, and a bundle of letters 'not to send, ' still in their envelopes. So, I sit down with a cup of tea and I begin to read.
The pages took me back and I was reminded of one of the hardest periods of my life. When I read what I wrote all those years ago, I could still feel the pain I endured. But, of course, eventually I did heal, and I became stronger and more whole.
