In this sequel to THE SAND TRAP, Melanie McDougal plays her last game as the only female member of the TOUR CHAMPION golf tour. After three successful seasons she is retiring to manage The Folly, her father's golf course in Bumstead, Saskatchewan. Her retirement is interrupted by a visit from the Canadian agency that helped her and her (now deceased) husband Burt escape four years ago from Mexican cartels. They recruit her to help recover a 15 year old girl who has been kidnapped by an estranged father and taken to the family in Guatemala. Under the guise of designing and building a new golf course in Belize in order to establish a relationship with the girl's Guatemalan grandfather she embarks on the mission to bring the girl back to Canada. The girl's 16 year old First Nations boyfriend has also travelled to Guatemala to try and bring her home. With the assistance of local Indigenous groups, he finds the girl at a private girl's school near Flores, Guatemala and makes his own plan to bring her home. They soon find out that there is more to the mission than simply bringing the girl back to her mother in Calgary and along with the Canadian Agency, Guatemalan Indigenous groups, and a couple of Guatemalan agents they attempt to break up a child pornography ring and a drug smuggling ring operating out of the school.
