The Parallel Mission Team is asked to intervene on another planet when a rogue group captures a Ship and attempts to enslave the planet. Their Missions take various Team members to Wyoming, Sicily, Cameroon, Cuba, and a double wedding in Germany. The message they share consistently reminds observers: "Violence begets violence. Peace begets peace, and love begets love." Derek takes a break from the wedding celebration to help a friend in Mexico. However, the Discovery of a communications virus threatens future Missions. Tilden is transported to a parallel universe to reunite with Grobnicheck, a giant of a man he worked with in the past. An attempt to confuse their antagonists has the Teams intervening in 12 countries, crisscrossing the globe in two hours-earth time. A promise takes the Team to Antarctica, a rescue via a volcano, a confrontation with pirates at McMurdo, and finally, back to Boston.
