Cultivating Faith Throy Campbell

Here are some important questions: (1) What words do I live by? (2) What imaginations dominate my thinking? (3) What truth will tear down the stronghold and free my heart to rest in the confidence of God? (4) Who am I in Christ?All these can only be answered by the word of God. The word of God, when received, will uplift the mind, and make it into a stronghold against the wiles of the adversary. Friend, Christ is the best companion one can have, and if you meditate on His word it will become audible in your heart. Your mind will be elevated to eternal perspectives, discerning the providence and sovereignty of God that override all impossibilities, rising above all challenges. Over time we learn to expect, depend, trust, and know that His word never fails. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4-5. Here is a real man/woman, one who conquers himself, his/her inclinations, his/her carnal appetite, and the perverted powers of the mind. This can be done only through persistently feeding on the word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to rule our minds and shape our characters. This collection of thoughts came to me through various sources, led by the Spirit, and framed by His word. Often, while running in the cool of the morning I listen and meditate on the word of God. Then I write. No doubt, it is difficult to recollect all my references, but I suggest you go back to the word of God. I trust that these thoughts will help to cultivate your faith in Christ!
