Charles Dickens
The Old Curiosity Shop is one of two books (the other being Barnaby Rudge) which Charles Dickens distributed alongside short stories in his week by week chronic Master Humphrey's Clock, from 1840 to 1841. It was famous to such an extent that New York perusers raged the wharf when the boat bearing the last portion showed up in 1841. The Old Curiosity Shop was imprinted in book structure in 1841. The plot follows the life of Nell Trent and her granddad, the two occupants of The Old Curiosity Shop in London. Queen Victoria read the novel in 1841 and thought that it was "exceptionally fascinating and shrewdly composed".
