In this book, author Kavita Kamble tells the story of a ten year old Ira and her sister Eva who travel to their Grandparent's farmhouse located in the western part of India, in the mid 80's to spend their weekends and summer. The stories are loosely based on the author's childhood memories.
Ira had been living with her Mom, Dad, and her older sister Eva in the suburban part of Kolhapur, a city rich in its culture and history. Her father who was working as a Professor of Entomology also used to help out his parents on their farm in his free time which was often. Ira's Grandparent's farmhouse was just twenty kilometers away from the city.
Ira experienced some of the strangest things and made a lot of fun memories with her cousins and their dog, Daisy, on the farm. The village where Ira's Grandparents lived was a complete contrast from her life in the city and became a playground for Ira's adventures. Ira called the farm her adventure land. She got to experience the country life while soaking up her Grandparent's love. A walk in the dark, catching fish in the monsoon season, learning to swim in a well and a one of a kind trip to the Sunday market.
