When you move to Ireland they go out of their way to help you get married. When you apply for dual-citizenship they help you and welcome you in a public group ceremony. But if you need to get a divorce, even as a citizen, they go out of their way to make it as impossible as they can-leading many people to further distress and financial hardship as they pay thousands just to get the most basic of legal forms (not offered by the court houses) completed. In this book, I explain the process of how I, and my dear friend and ex-spouse, managed to figure out how to get a divorce in Ireland without paid legal counsel-and to remain friends through it all.
