The Middle of Things
Joseph Smith Fletcher
A rich man named Ashton is murdered in an alley, apparently robbed and killed for his jewelry and money. The police believe a young man who tries to pawn stolen rings the next day may be the killer. Viner, a friend of the accused, discovered the body, however, and he believes otherwise. But nothing is clear. The victim turns out to have a murky past and the race is on to find the murderer.
