When you're labeled a criminal, everybody wants a piece of you, even when you're just trying to help. I'm used to it by now. If they throw magic blasts at me, or grow fur and claws, or even manipulate the elements to get to me, I can handle them just fine.

But even I can't outrun the past, and when it catches up with me, I'm nowhere near prepared for it. Turns out, Nana has disappeared and her last wish was for me to find her. Saying no is not an option. Nana was the woman who gave me a life. The same one who later took it away.

In my old city, nothing is ever what it seems. To find Nana, I have to team up with a guy who wants her found just so he can kill her himself. Logan is a damn hot Pyro, both because he can make fire with his hands, and because he's sexy as a sin you want to do repeatedly.

But the magian I'm after this time is far more powerful than the usual Bob who wants to make a quick buck by bringing my head in to the authorities. He's got a forbidden kind of magic that can kill you in a heartbeat. I've got a walking, talking flame-thrower by my side, pretty bracelets that can cut through even the strongest magic, and I am annoyingly hard to kill.
