Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe(28 August 1749 - 22 March 1832) was a German writer and statesman. His worksinclude: four novels; epicand lyric poetry;proseand versedramas; memoirs; an autobiography; literaryand aesthetic criticism; and treatises on botany, anatomy, and colour. In addition, numerous literary and scientific fragments, more than 10,000 letters, and nearly 3,000 drawings by him have survived. He is considered the greatest German literary figure of the modern era.


Henry Patrick Clarke (17 March 1889 - 6 January 1931) was an Irish stained-glass artist and book illustrator. Born in Dublin, he was a leading figure in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement.

His work was influenced by both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. His stained glass was particularly informed by the French Symbolist movement.
