Derues

Antoine François Derues very early on shows signs of perversity and hypocrisy taken to the extreme since c '' At the age of 9, in 1751, he committed his first crime. Twenty years later, things have not improved, the "miraculous" fire in his grocery store allowing him to be declared bankrupt for the third time ... Innumerable deceptions, a few murders follow before he sets his sights on a family of the Yonne, the Lamotte, who own a property which he decides to appropriate. With this in mind, he became friends with them, attracted Ms. Lamotte and her son to Paris, then poisoned them. But he then comes up against the distrust of Mr. Lamotte who, worried about being without news of his wife, opens an investigation. The presumption is strong against Derues, but the evidence is lacking. The discovery of the body of Mrs. Lamotte, following the revenge of a gossip, lost Derues, who despite the evidence of his guilt, continues to deny and dies without having confessed or regretted his actions for a moment.
