This is volume 5 in the Old Testament Expository Sermon series. In Numbers, the people of Israel failed to trust and obey God and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Joshua and Caleb were two of the twelve spies that went into Canaan the Promised Land. They came back with a good report and said, "we should enter this land," but the other ten said, "no there are giants in the land, we can't go in." The name of the book seems to come from numbering the people. Numbers 6:24-26 (ESV)24 The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26 the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
