The Parable of the Fig Tree is from the gospel of Luke wherein Jesus tells Israel a parable comparing them to a barren fig tree that had produced no fruits for God's Kingdom and was in danger of being cut down, and the plea for an additional year of fertilizing Israel with the apostles preaching the gospel of the kingdom with the power of the Holy Spirit to Israel in hopes of them accepting Jesus as their Christ, and it is also the story of their rejecting Jesus as the Son of God. The story takes place in the first eight chapters of the book of Acts which all occur during that addition year given to Israel to produce fruits of righteousness. When she did not and instead stoned Stephen, a man full of the Holy Ghost, God cut the nation off temporarily and raised up Saul of Tarsus the chief of sinners to begin the dispensation of Grace. Paul would serve as a pattern for all who would believe on Christ after him. This dispensation of Grace will continue until the rapture occurs. Brother Jim Phillips
