The World as Will and Representation is the central work of Arthur Schopen hauer. In it Schopenhauer argued that work is meant to convey a "single thought" fromvarious perspectives, he developed his philosophy over four books coveringepistemology, ontology, aesthetics, and ethics. Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860) was a German philosopher born in Danzig, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. He is best known for his work The World as Will and Representation, in it he characterizes the phenomenal world as the product of an insatiable and blind metaphysical will.
