The American Church's obsession with an earthly nationalism over and above a heavenly citizenship continues to threaten Orthodox Christianity with the prospect of becoming a fruitless religion that is not long for this world. In The Red, White & Blue Myth, Kentucky poet and musician vagrant moon challenges American Christians to accept their status as aliens and strangers in a fallen world by admonishing believers to stop settling to live as mere non-perennial patriots in a kingdom that is passing away.
