We Will Be Free Kai de Leon de Jesus

I wrote this memoir during an unexpected gap year, part of a long quest to discover who I am and who I will be. Being brown, being trans, being a lesbian, being disabled, etc.-these are all identities that have made my life (so far) unique, difficult, and empowering. By exploring my queerness and my experiences through personal essays and poetry, I hope that people like me might feel a little less alone, and that the rest of the world can understand, even just a bit, what it's like to be us.
