Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-The purpose of realizing this historical context is to approach the understanding of a historical epoch from the elements provided by the text. In the eyes of many modern readers, Sherlock Holmes' stories portray the fifth essence of Victorian Britain. However, this is only one half of the story. It is wrong to categorize Holmes and its creator merely as "Victorians" although it is true that many of the stories are set in the 1880s and 1890s, at the end of Queen Victoria's reign (1837-1901), more than Half of them were written at the beginning of the 20th century and are imbued with a more modern character.
