Gamel Abdullah, author of Melting Pot of Sins: A Family Divided, The Hereafter, Led Astray and Read or Recite The Tree of Life now delivers his second book of poetry in 'The Tree of Knowledge'. His new poetry is compiled with inspirational poetic verses that he has continued to write during his life experience, a journey that has brought forth wisdom by the grace and mercy of Allah. Gamel Abdullah has also published poetry with the International Library of Poetry and Noble House Publishers UK division. His poetry is included in seven anthologies between these two publishers. The International Library of Poetry selected Gamel Abdullah as a poetry ambassador for National Poetry Month and Gamel Abdullah also received their Editors Choice Award in 2006. Gamel Abdullah was born on September 24, 1960 in the heart of North Philadelphia, better known as North Philly to native Philadelphians. He grew up one block from the famous Robin Hood Dell East in Fairmount Park. He was born to an African American Muslim couple, the late Nassardin and Sayeeda Abdullah. Gamel Abdullah relocated to New York City in 1994 but returned to his home town in 2000 and still resides in Philly to date.
