In a world separated by those who are beautiful and those who "aren't", Maria works as a Servant to make ends meet for her family. When cutting her hair for money causes her to lose her job, Maria makes the decision to disguise herself as a young man to be sent away for work in order to ensure the survival of her father and siblings. At the Camp designed for hard labor, she gains allies with her fellow bunkmates and begins to unearth (literally) the darker secrets of her society. The world is full of vanity and segregation, but a few tumbling stones may cause the avalanche that will bring it all down.
