Yavanapriya, the historical novel, highlights hitherto unexplored angle of the origin of Aramaic (Syriac) speaking Malabari living in the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula. They are presently known as the Syrian Christians or the St. Thomas Christians who is believed to have evangelized by the Apostle St. Thomas in 52 AD. The legends and the available historical fragments suggest that they were the pioneers of black pepper cultivation and its trade to the Mediterranean countries.
The books scan the history of ancient Ptolemaic Egypt, Seleucid Syria, ancient Rome, and its military actions across the Aegean Sea to the Asian mainland of Anatolia, Pontus and Armenia resulting in mass migration from the middle east.
It aims to expose the interaction between ancient Indian and Greco-Roman philosophical thought process influencing the people of the east and west simultaneously.
Lastly, it aims to visualize the development of open Sea voyages between the Red Sea ports and the Indian shore of Malabar with the aid of south westerly and it's reversing north easterly trade winds of the Eritrean Sea.
