The White Company is a historical adventure set during the Hundred Years ' War by British writer Arthur Conan Doyle. The plot is set in England, France, and Spain, in the years 1366 and 1367, against the backdrop of Edward the Black Prince's attempt to restore Peter of Castile to the Kingdom of Castile 's throne. The White Company was published in Cornhill Magazine, in serialized form in 1891. In addition, the book is considered a sequel to Doyle 's later novel, Sir Nigel, which discusses Sir Nigel Loring and Samkin Aylward 's early campaigns.
