Carmilla (Annotated)
Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu
Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the time-This book contains a historical context, where past events or the study and narration of these events are examined. The historical context refers to the circumstances and incidents surrounding an event. This context is formed by everything that, in some way, influences the event when it happens. A fact is always tied to its time: that is, to its characteristics. Therefore, when analyzing events that took place tens, hundreds or thousands of years ago, it is essential to know the historical context to understand them. Otherwise, we would be analyzing and judging what happened in a totally different era with a current perspective. We have a certain weakness for the classic ghost stories. And especially for vampires. Carmilla, from the Irish Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, one of the classics of the vampiric genre, was nonetheless one of the most blatant gaps we had. Until today. In fact, it has been a long time since a copy of this book was installed in my stack of earrings (surely the one who left it for me doesn't even remember...), but for A or B, it was always delaying its reading. The publication of the extraordinary edition, however, was the definitive stimulus I needed to read it at once.
