In the post-pandemic era, fifty-year-old professor Gianluca Morelli decides to call it quits after twenty years of teaching at New York University. His plan is to take his pension and move south. He is an avowed bachelor, has had girlfriends and lovers, but has avoided falling in love. His route to Florida is interrupted, and he ends up in a small Georgia town where he meets the improbable Leylah, the woman who will cause him to question everything.
