Joakim Berg | Framtiden Som Aldrig Blev Av
"The Future That Never Went Away" is the second solo album from Swedish songwriter and former Kent lead singer Joakim Berg. The album comes several years after his solo debut Jag forså glömma (2022), which debuted at No. 1 on the Swedish album chart, and follows a period of renewed activity after Kent briefly reformed for a series of sold-out arena concerts in Stockholm.
Much of the material on "The Future That Never Went Away" was written in the spring and fall of 2025, a period that Berg has described as marked by a renewed desire to write and move creatively forward, after the turmoil surrounding the reunion concerts had settled down. Where his first solo album looked back and reflected on formative memories, the new songs are firmly rooted in the present.
As with much of his solo material, Berg has had an all-encompassing role in the creation of the album, writing, arranging, recording and producing the material himself.
