Rhiannon Giddens | Hope Is the Thing with Feathers

The Pulitzer and Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens has announced that her new album Hope is the Thing with Feathers will be released on September 18 on Nonesuch Records. The collection of 10 songs was inspired by the beauty of people gathering and drawing strength from one another. It was deliberately recorded live without frills and with few overdubs, just pure and essential music that captures the feeling of community, clarity, and the joy and power of creating together. From the exploration of the lineages that form American music to the community-oriented spirit in which it was conceived and recorded, the album in many ways tells the story of the last 20 years of Giddens' life.
