Mastodon | Marrow Deep
Mastodon have announced their long-awaited new album Marrow Deep, which will be released on August 28, 2026. The album is the band's first studio album without singer and guitarist Brent Hinds.
Five years after the ambitious Hushed and Grim, Marrow Deep depicts how founding members Brann Dailor, Troy Sanders, and Bill Kelliher have navigated several years of personal upheaval and returned with renewed energy and a strong creative focus. Inspired by the three goddesses of fate from Greek mythology and the fragile bonds between life, loss, and destiny, the album transforms the intense personal experiences of recent years into some of the most magnificent, adventurous, and emotionally powerful music in the band's career.
Mastodon's new album, Marrow Deep, will be the band's first full-length release with guitarist Nick Johnston after co-founder, singer, and guitarist Brent Hinds left the band in 2025 and quite tragically died later that same year. In addition to Nick Johnston, the album also features significant contributions from keyboardist João Nogueira.
Marrow Deep was co-produced by Mastodon in their own West End Sound studio in Atlanta together with Patrik Berger (Lana Del Rey, Charli XCX) and Kurt Ballou (High On Fire, Converge). The album was mixed by Andrew Scheps (Adele, Black Sabbath, Metallica) and will feature an impressive lineup of guests throughout the tracklist.
