Queen Budapest
Queen Budapest marks the 40th anniversary of the first Western stadium rock concert behind the Iron Curtain – and at the same time Queen's last filmed live performance with Freddie Mercury. Now, the historic concert is re-released for the first time on vinyl and CD, with remixed sound, as well as in a restored 4K edition and on Blu-ray and DVD.
For the first time, the legendary Budapest concert from Queen is released on vinyl with an entirely new remix based on the original multitrack recordings, which provides the most detailed and captivating rendition of the concert to date. The CD edition also contains the remixed soundtrack.
The concert was recorded on July 27, 1986, at Népstadion in Budapest during The Magic Tour. Queen made history as the first Western rock band to play a stadium concert behind the Iron Curtain in a time marked by major cultural and political changes. All 80,000 tickets were snapped up, while an additional 45,000 fans followed the concert outside the stadium. The audience had traveled from afar to experience the historic event.
No one could have known then that Queen would only play five more concerts. Just one month later, the band's touring career with Freddie Mercury ended with the legendary concert in Knebworth Park on August 9, 1986.
Queen Budapest shows the band at the peak of their live form and features immortal classics such as "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", "A Kind Of Magic", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "Under Pressure", "Who Wants To Live Forever", "Hammer To Fall" and of course "Bohemian Rhapsody".
