Square Enixs renowned role playing title is given a complete makeover in this remake of the original Star Ocean.

Star Ocean first graced the Super Nintendo back in the mid-nineties, its big ideas and grand narratives somewhat ahead of its time. With the PSPs horsepower now firmly behind it, the title has been given a new lease on life. On the space date 346, the crew of a federation star ship make their way to the planet Roak with the hopes of stopping an all-out intergalactic war. With 3D visuals mixed with old-fashion sprites and the detailed cut scenes Square Enix is known for, Star Oceans world is given a fresh outlook.

The role playing titles changes go beyond the surface, as many of the core gameplay elements have been brought up-to-date, with a completely rebuilt gameplay system working with real-time battles to keep the pace. Extra depth has also been added to the storyline, as each character has their own subplot, expanding on their relationships.

Though the original Star Ocean title never hit these shores, First Departure makes sure that European gamers are given the best version of the classic title to date.
