Drama set just before the outbreak of World War Two. After a German envoy fails to return to Berlin, an ambassador in London is suspected of involvement. As a result, two Gestapo agents are deployed to Britain to find out what has happened.

However, their presence and the methods they use lead the ambassador and his family to question their loyalty to their leader and homeland.
