After escaping from the futuristic maximum security prison portrayed in 1993's FORTRESS, John Brennick (Lambert) and his family are fugitives once again. Before you know it, Brennick is once again trapped in a world of concrete, steel, and laser-blazing security probes. No ordinary prison, this one was created by the evil Men-Tel Corporation and orbits 26,000 miles from Earth. Among the inmates are the fiercest criminals on the planet, who bide their time performing menial labor amidst meteor showers and other harsh elements. Facing an elaborate surveillance system which includes a camera placed inside his own body, Brennick must overcome the odds and be reunited with his wife and son.
