The Dog Stars Ridley Scott Nordic edition

The Dog Stars is a magnificent post-apocalyptic thriller from legendary director Ridley Scott, who has previously been behind film classics such as Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, and The Martian. Starring Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley, the film tells a story of survival, loneliness, and the hope of finding humanity in a world that has almost lost it.

The plot unfolds in 2035, where a deadly flu pandemic has wiped out the majority of the world's population and left civilization in ruins. Former mechanic and pilot Hig (Jacob Elordi) has lost his wife and now lives in isolation at an abandoned airfield in Colorado together with his faithful dog Jasper and the hardened former marine Bangley (Josh Brolin). Together, they have created a small refuge where they try to protect themselves from an outside world marked by violence, desperation, and distrust.

While Bangley has resigned himself to a life where every stranger is considered a potential threat, Hig refuses to give up hope that there is still something good out there. When he one day picks up a mysterious radio signal, he decides to leave their relatively safe existence and embark on a perilous journey in his small plane. Along the way, he encounters both new threats and people who could change his view of the future. Among them are Cima (Margaret Qualley) and her father Pops (Guy Pearce), who live in isolation in the mountains.

The film is based on Peter Heller's critically acclaimed 2012 novel, while the screenplay is written by Mark L. Smith, who is known for, among other things, The Revenant
