Joe South's debut LP 'Introspect' is one of those rare albums which reflect a new approach. It took Rock music into new places with its blend of Country and Soul. At the time, in 1968, 'Introspect' was deleted almost too quickly for most listeners to find it, much less hear it. His lyrics demonstrate that at heart Joe was a spiritual man, a seeker of truth and integrity. He was not afraid to sing against the ignorance of racism.
