Unlike 'No More Fear Of Flying', on which he sometimes just seemed to be the singer on his own record, here Brooker delivered his songs with feeling, his voice strong enough to sound both relaxed and powerful in the same breath, which is well suited to the tone of this album. 'Lead Me To The Water' is a sadly underrated album full of great music which still sounds fresh and original, created with a backing band including George Harrison, Albert Lee, Eric Clapton, Chris Stainton, & Phil Collins.
